Worshiping the Lord seems to be easy when things are going well and difficult when they are not. However, that is not what worship is. In Psalms, I have come to better understand that worshipping Him is not about me and how things are going for me. Worship is all about Him; how great and mighty He is; and, what He has done, is doing and can do. In the verses above, that is what David is calling us to do, give the Lord the worship and glory that is due Him. The Lord is the mighty god, no one can compare to Him! I love how this psalm draws the poet in me by how it both proclaims the might of Lord and His faithfulness to deliver us.
Entering the second month of this journey, I am in awe of how so many of these psalms that I read so many times before are new to me as the Spirit reveals things to me in them that I did not see before. What a blessing it is to have access to living, breathing Word! I hope that if you are taking this journey that it is a joy for you as well.
I look forward to reading your insights on your journey through the psalms below.
